Inspect the inner diameters of your workpiece with high precision. Insert the pin gauge with the smallest diameter into the workpiece hole. You can then insert the pin gauge in increasing order of size until you find the one that fits best into the bore without using force. This will identify the lower limit of the bore. The upper limit is determined by finding the smallest size that will not fit even if a small force is applied to push it in.
